Thank you!

On October 14 and 15, basketball teams from 8 schools across the Region participated in our 1st Annual Memorial Basketball Tournament of Hope to honour Kaitlyn's legacy. The mission of this tournament is to raise awareness and funds for adults aged 18 and older in our community who struggle with a mental illness.

This two-day tournament saw students, staff, community members, family and friends filling Bluevale Collegiate with positive energy, connection, and great basketball, ending with a finale between A.B. Lucas and St. Benedict. Congratulations to St. Benedict for winning the tournament.

Through the support of purchases and donations, we raised over $15,000. Thank you to all who came out to cheer on the teams and for helping honour Kaitlyn’s life through this meaningful event. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.

The 1st Annual
Memorial Basketball Tournament of Hope In Honour of the Late Kaitlyn Roth

Kaitlyn loved the game of basketball and was a student at Bluevale Collegiate. She played basketball on the high school Bluevale team as well as on the Wildhawks Rep team. Kaitlyn was known for her "go-getter" attitude, kindness, sense of humour and genuine care for others.

We are motivated to create a community and country filled with hope and compassion for anyone struggling with the disease of mental illness. To honour Kaitlyn's legacy, we ask that you consider donating to Carizon Family and Community Services. Carizon is an amazing organization that is committed to strengthening individual's mental health through a host of services; counselling, groups and workshops.

Kaitlyn's legacy is about creating hope and compassion for mental health services for adults, aged 18 and older. The funding for adult mental health services is significantly less than children's services, however mental health affects people at any age. This is about creating hope for all adults struggling with the disease of mental health, that there will be compassionate and prompt care ready for them when they need it.
